This years big bike packing trip took us to the Swabian Alps. The Swabian Jura, also named Swabian Alps in English, is a mountain range in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, extending 220 km from southwest to northeast and 40 to 70 km in width. It is named after the region of Swabia. The tour itself was based on the MTB Tour from komoot called Spätzle Cross: komoot.com/collection/548/spaetzle-cross-7-days-on-the-swabian-albWe took the train from Karlsruhe to Aalen on the first day and toured from there to Geislingen an der Steige. Second day took us to Gruibingen from where we continued along the route until Owen on the next day. We extended the route to Stuttgart to catch the train back home. The most inefficient way from A to B, with the highest number of elevation and the steepest climbs & descents would be a good summary. A few times the gravel bikes packed with tent and all where not the right tool for the trails ;) Loads of fun though. I would recommend to anyone who appreciates a challenge.
