The cycle paths lead over gently rolling hills to beautifully situated towns and villages, past castles and palaces, steaming thermal baths and many bathing lakes. There is so much to discover in the Oberschwaben-Allgäu cycling region that one ride is often not enough. That's why this Collection introduces you to two cycle paths: the Danube-Lake Constance cycle path and the Oberschwaben-Allgäu cycle path.
The Danube-Lake Constance cycle path winds its way through the varied landscape in four stages, embedded in the magnificent Alpine panorama. The route begins in Ulm on the Danube, the city with the highest church tower in the world, and leads through the hilly landscape of Upper Swabia and Württemberg's Allgäu down to Lake Constance. Muscle power is required on individual sections, but there are plenty of opportunities to relax along the route: Swimming lakes, spas, and pleasant thermal baths invite you to linger. For cyclists, opportunities for longer breaks also arise when crossing numerous places of the Upper Swabian Baroque Road with its unique sights.
The Oberschwaben-Allgäu cycle path starts in Ulm and runs clockwise. The 223-mile (360-kilometre) long cycle route, which is divided into eight sections and continuously signposted, allows cyclists to get to know everything that Upper Swabia and the Allgäu region of Württemberg are known for. The ride takes you through a number of small towns and villages, with historical buildings and museums waiting for culture lovers, as well as baths and spas for those seeking relaxation. The Swabian hospitality is celebrated with regional specialties and traditionally brewed beer.
