Meine Rheinsteig-Wanderung 2017/2018

Here are my notes from my favorite and first long-distance hike, the Rheinsteig. I hiked this step by step from 2017 to 2018. I published the text on Geocaching.com, because I also cached it. So that I can follow the path on Komoot, I have published my hike here.

Après une nuit reposante à l'hôtel Markt3 à Bad Honnef, je me suis jeté dans le bon petit déjeuner. Ici, j'ai revu l'équipe Chillii, que j'ai rencontrée hier en chemin.

Cette fois, j'ai pris le bus pour Rhöndorf. Ici, j'ai pris un accès différent, un peu plus court, à la station… voir plus

My 3000th cache !!!

On May 25th and 26th I hiked the first two stages from Bonn to Unkel. It was so much fun and it felt like a vacation that I was hooked right away to run the other stages as well.

Aujourd'hui, j'ai décidé d'aller au Rheinsteig n°4. Après que la météo m'avait annoncé du soleil pour ce mercredi, j'ai fait une petite pause. J'ai démarré le train très tôt le matin et j'ai donc pu démarrer ce tour à 8h45. Malheureusement, il y avait un épais brouillard le matin… voir plus

Il n'y a pas si longtemps que j'ai couru la 4e étape. Eh bien, j'ai beaucoup aimé celui-ci, alors j'ai profité du beau temps et de mes vacances pour courir les deux suivants.

Le train a traversé de nombreux endroits que je connais déjà, jusqu'à Leutesdorf. A 10h20, j'ai couru jusqu… voir plus

Après avoir bien dormi à l'hôtel Waldterrasse avec vue directe sur le Rheinsteig, je suis parti tôt. J'ai sauté le petit-déjeuner car il y a encore quelques kilomètres devant moi aujourd'hui et je ne voulais pas laisser la randonnée dégénérer en précipitation. J'ai donc commenc… voir plus

Jour 1 sur 3

J'ai terminé l'étape 6 en octobre dernier. Maintenant, le long hiver est arrivé et j'espérais qu'il ferait bientôt plus chaud. Le moment était enfin venu : la météo estivale en avril était annoncée. J'ai donc pris des vacances spontanées pour parcourir les étapes 7… voir plus

Day 2 of 3

After a hearty breakfast in the Hotel Wiegand, the hike continued to Braubach at 8:40 a.m. It was still fresh in the morning, but soon after the first climb I was able to stow the jacket in the backpack.

Since I stayed overnight in Oberlahnstein and the stage was only 15 kilometers… voir plus

Day 3 of 3

After breakfast at the Hotel Wieghardt in Braubach, I started my way to Kamp-Bornhofen at 8:50 a.m. I was soon able to take off my jacket. First we went up to the Marksburg. Fortunately, I was alone here and was able to enjoy the peace and quiet when a whole school class… voir plus

Actually, I had planned the Rheinsteig stages 10 and 11 for Thursday and Friday. Due to the bad weather on Thursday, I spontaneously postponed it to Friday and Saturday. Fortunately, I was able to get the last hotel room in Sankt Goarshausen.

Hiked on 05/12/2018



After I slept well in the hotel in Sankt Goarshausen, I replenished my supplies at the supermarket and left for the next stage at 7.45 a.m. It was still foggy and pleasantly cool. So first up again. At the Dreiburgenblick the view was still almost zero, but it was nice and quiet up… voir plus

Dimanche 19 août 2018 : Jour 1 sur 4 de ma randonnée de Kaub à Wiesbaden-Biebrich. (Kaub à Lorch)



Le moment était enfin venu, les dernières étapes du Rheinsteig m'attendaient (cette fois pendant 4 jours d'affilée). Pour détendre un peu la randonnée, j'ai choisi les étapes de Kaub… voir plus

Lundi 20/08/2018 : Jour 2 sur 4 (Lorch à Rüdesheim)



Après un bon petit déjeuner à Lorch avec vue sur le Rhin, ma visite s'est poursuivie à 8h50 avec la destination Rüdesheim.

Cette fois, les chemins étaient un peu plus larges, mais le paysage était redevenu beau comme d'habitude… voir plus

Mardi 21/08/2018 : Jour 3 sur 4 de ma randonnée de Kaub à Wiesbaden-Biebrich. (Rüdesheim à Kiedrich)



Après une bonne nuit, le lendemain matin à 8h50 nous sommes allés à Kiedrich. D'abord à nouveau, bien sûr, devant l'abbaye Sainte-Hildegarde.

Wednesday, August 22nd, 2018: Day 4 of 4 of my hike from Kaub to Wiesbaden-Biebrich. (Kiedrich to Wiesbaden-Biebrich)
