Martin und Josch At the beginning of August we started our tour to Denmark. The plan was to circumnavigate the mainland once on the coast. We took the train to Kolding first. Due to the forecast weather, we decided to go up the coast in the west and down again in the east. Since the planned tour mostly took place on the coast, we pay special attention to the wind and should be lucky. The cycle paths in Denmark are well developed, there are many lonely country roads and wonderful gravel roads through nature. Our highlight, however, was the overnight stay every evening. There are hundreds of free shelters equipped with toilets, fireplaces and firewood, sources of drinking water, a few showers, and electricity. I have never seen anything like it in any country in the world. Everything is state-built and maintained and in the most beautiful and remote places. We didn't pay a cent for overnight stays and theoretically you don't even need a tent. You can find the locations via the Shelter app in the AppStore or via the following link:apps.apple.com/de/app/shelter/id626652345We drove a total of 900 km in 7 days and once circled Denmark. Denmark is ideal for beginners in bikepack, as it has very beautiful nature and still a great infrastructure. There is a shelter about every 10km. If you're not a beginner, you can shoot kilometers and still get your outdoor experience. The best way to end a day on the bike around the campfire. You can find our route at:
