Malerweg

The first stage was quite short (compared to a Jakobsweg stage) but really beautiful. Every meter we had concentrated beauty and variety. Arrived in town (!!!) Wehlen we had to find out that there is no supermarket here. So we're back to the starting point to shop by train. And then by train back to… voir plus

The beginning is a bit tough, but the last section excuses everything. Be sure to take the side trip to the weather vane view and back through the falcon gorge. Not on the Malerweg but is worthwhile today 👍have a very special hotel. All original DDR😀

Saxon Switzerland really showed its best side on this stage. Was a brilliant and varied tour. Even small climbing passages were included. Here you should be free from giddiness and sure-footed. Today we left the actual Malerweg a little bit. It does not lead directly through Ottendorf, but there is our current pension😊

Oh yes, and on this stage Bear Herbert was allowed to get out of his backpack for the first time. But it was on all stages (and also on all hikes))

Super brilliant stage over the bastion. Of course there was a lot going on here. But as soon as you are a little away from Bastei, it becomes much calmer again. There are still no shops on the route. Today we spent the night directly in Hohnstein Castle (Fig. 55).

Absolutely awesome with breakfast for… voir plus

The penultimate stage was once again beautiful. On the Pfaffenstein you have an incredible number of great viewpoints that you can make a detour to the right and left of the Malerweg. Often associated with climbing. An absolute must is the Barbarine viewpoint (Fig. 18). I somehow missed the official… voir plus

Unfortunately, we had to change today's stage a bit, because we didn't get an overnight stay in Altendorf. So we are from Kohlmühle by train to Bad Schandau. Kohlmühle has a very own radiance. I think everyone has to decide whether positive or negative - but definitely something special. From the train… voir plus

The best way to walk from Ottendorf back to Neumannmühle is via the Endlerkuppe. The path is beautiful. Once there, you are back on the Malerweg.
