Castle Burg an der Wupper the Counts of Berg

Burg Castle towers 110 meters high above the Wupper, and the defensive keep can be seen from afar. Inside there are massive walls, huge archways, narrow alleys, narrow courtyards and sunny terraces. The origins go back to the 12th century: In the Middle Ages, the castle was the seat of the Counts of Berg, the scene of court festivals and a place of great politics. Today it is one of the most popular excursion destinations in the region. Anyone who comes here is embarking on a journey back in time to the Middle Ages - swords and armor included. Here history comes alive and you get an impression of how it used to be.
The view from above, over the valleys and heights of the Wupper Mountains, into the vastness of the Bergisches Land is simply fantastic. Restaurants in the immediate vicinity invite you to take a break.
