The section runs almost parallel to the Rennsteig, but offers a much nicer, more varied hiking experience. A special highlight is the lookout on the Gerberstein. At 728.5 m, the Gerberstein is the highest mountain in the Wartburg district.

Leave Rennsteig to the left over the road and walk over the Gerberstein. It's worth it!
