We didn't take the Veste Heldburg with us on our hike in summer, only seen it from a distance. It would have been worth it! Nice to see you now.
Unfortunately you can only walk around the outside ... inside there is an entrance fee

Have already walked twice from Heldburg across the Kuhsee to the Billmuthausen memorial and back to Veste Heldburg via the Kolonnenweg. The German Castle Museum is housed there and the tower offers a great view of the surrounding area. But both cost admission.
