Randonnée - Incontournable
The Kaiserhalle made of trass concrete stands between Burgbrohl Castle and Burgbrohl Train Station. This special mixture made it possible to build a hall without a pillar with a dome. In 1896, the architect and building contractor Wilhelm Bell had the Kaiserhalle built from the local building materials lime, lava sand and trass. The Kaiserhalle, a modern shell construction, was built in just three months and was proof that you could build sustainable buildings with the local building materials. Bell received the building permit after the fact. Fortunately, after some damage to the Kaiserhalle, it was not torn down in 1979, but beautifully renovated again. You can rent it as a festival hall.
