Śnieżka - Schneekoppe

Many roads lead to Rome: we chose the chairlift from Karpacz (observe operating times - inform in advance !!!). We reached the "Kleine Koppe". From here it is about 1000m to the Schlesierhaus. Even here you can enjoy beautiful views.
Now there are 2 ways to climb the Schneekoppe: a very steep and strenuous way (we recommend it!) Or a longer, easier way (we took it as the way back).

The Snezka is at 1603 m the highest peak of the Giant Mountains.
According to Wikipedia, it is also the highest mountain of the Sudetes, the Central European mid-mountain threshold and the Czech Republic.

If possible, avoid the Czech and Polish holidays, otherwise it will be as full as seen in the photos.

In April 2018 all restaurants were closed.

Nice and cozy way on the "ridge" towards the summit of Schneekoppe.

The view is magnificent, in a steel construction u.A. Souvenirs and postcards sold.

For the first part of the tour I recommend the chairlift. This one is then at an altitude of about 1200 meters.

In the case of changes in the weather with snow and strong wind, the last part of the summit ascent (coming from the ridgeway from the west) can freeze in such a way that the chains disappear under the snow and advance some climbing (crampons, crampons) requires.

The tour was certainly worth it. Too many people for my taste. I went up and down again with great weather and great views. But unique for me.
