Rhön-Rennsteig-Weg

The Rhön-Rennsteig-Wanderweg is a 89 km long long-distance hiking trail from Hesse to Thuringia.
Starting at the Wasserkuppe (950 m), after passing the Heidelstein and the Red and Black Moors, it crosses the former inner-German border.
In Thuringia, you can hike across the Geba (751 m) and Dolmar (739 m), which are also very scenic.
Shortly afterwards, the path leaves the Rhön - the "land of open spaces" - and enters the vast forest areas of the Thuringian Forest.(Source: Wikipedia)
