Lilienstein

The climb to the Lilienstein is definitely worth it. No matter if the weather is good or bad. :) We walked up the Nordsteig - but rather recommend the Südsteig, as it is easier.

Since we are always traveling with a dog, I can recommend this short but beautiful hike suitable as dogs. However, your dog (if you can not wear it) should be able to walk on small ladders, as they are in the North Rise. In the south rise there are relatively large stone steps and only a grid. All in all, fairly tight ascent and descent. The western outlook has started quite well on the weekend and therefore difficult with a dog. Not because the dog does not make it, but rather because of the many people. However, there are also kick bars. So only for dogs who can! But that's not so bad, all other prospects are enough to see enough and far into the distance. The Liliensteinbaude had opened with us.

In the holidays / holidays you will be amazed how many people are traveling on the Lilienstein. This should be considered in the planning, as the search for a parking space is not easy and even at the top of each trail quickly creates a traffic jam.
There are two ways of ascension. Both are connected by numerous stairs, steps and ladders.
At the top there is the "Felsgaststätte Lilienstein". Opposite this is an obelisk (this was erected in 1889 for the 800th anniversary of the Wettins).

From the west corner you have a very good view of the fortress Königstein (S), Weissig with the Rauenstein (W) and health resort Rathen with the Bastei (NW).

Magnificent view over the Saxon Switzerland towards Königstein. Out of season (mid-November) it is nice and quiet here and you can have the obelisk all to yourself.
