This memorial was erected as a thank you for sparing Vijlen during World War II, as a thank you for the safe return of the villagers and in memory of those who died. There are also the Stations of the Cross in the access road to the statue of the Virgin Mary.
A beautiful place with a great view of the Geuldal near Wijlre. A place to relax and enjoy creation. There are sofas. The oleanders bloom and smell in June and all year round. It is a place with one of the most beautiful views of Vijlen with the Geuldal in the distance.
