  • Here stood until the beginning of the 50s at the present Langenhorner market the Eberhof.
The memorial stone was the gable stone of the house.
The farm gave the Eberhofweg its name.

  • A piece of Hamburg history ...
In October 2015, a historical relief encircled by metal was placed on the Langenhorner Markt next to the Kaufland building with an accompanying display panel, without protection from the weather, graffiti and vandalism. The sandstone relief was created by the Eimsbüttel sculptor W. Rodewoldt. The owner Anke Rathig (since 1977 chair of the DRK local community Langenhorn / Fuhlsbüttel) made it available to Langenhorn, but criticized the rather careless treatment and installation of the relief. Her name or her father's name is not mentioned on the display board, but Erwin Möller (* 1935), who only appears in the description as a Langenhorn archive and who contributed some information and image copies for the display board and was there during the installation.
Her father saved the Eberstein from the rubble of the demolished Eberhof in 1954. The Eberhof was built in 1799 and belonged to the Langenhorn farming family Cordes, after whom the Cordesweg in Langenhorn was named in 1932. Around 1880 the broker Emil Römling bought the house and provided it with a turret and a bell in 1890 and decorated the front of the house with the representation of a boar and a sow and a saying.
Next to the entrance to the courtyard was an old cannon from 1800 that was loaded and fired on New Year's Eve. In 1903 the Eberhofweg, where the farm stood, and in 1932 the Eberhofstieg in Langenhorn was named after the farm.
The display shows twice that two boars are depicted on the relief, but you can see teats on the right pig instead of pronounced canines, which means that the right pig is a sow and only the left one is a boar.
