Randonnée - Incontournable
The courtyard was built in the second half of the 18th century. In 1902, Eduard Merton, who came from a Frankfurt banking family, acquired the estate and ran a horse. He built the "Villa Merton" manor in 1902 and parts of the farm in 1903/05. In 1933, the Jewish-born Merton sold the estate to the Mannheim farmer Dr. Fritz Gebhard ...
Around 1955 the villa served as a retirement home under the name "Waldfrieden".
The Villa Merton was demolished in the years around 1980 to the remains of the wall, the site is now on the area of the former "Villa Schmider", known for the Flowtex scandal.
From ka.stadtwiki.net/RittnerthofThe garden in front of the property is absolutely worth seeing. There is always something to see here. A little further down the path past the Rittnerthof towards the forest is another floral arrangement. With beautiful roses.
