  • A military fortress built in 1936 as part of the construction of a border fortress line. As well as the surrounding buildings K-S 2 to K-S 9, within the framework of the separate building sub-section III / 1 Červený potok, civil engineers Ing. Karel Skorkovský from Prague. This well-established company had a lot of experience with the construction of concrete structures, which was probably one of the reasons why it succeeded in building a construction site not only of this border fortification building, but also of many others, such as the artillery fortress of Hůrka in Králíky.The pace of construction was relatively fast, the company had a 250-day time limit. The concrete concreting of the K-S 5 building lasted six days, while the processing of a total of 1756 m3 of reinforced concrete should not be interrupted in order to reduce its future resistance due to the formation of joints. For the same reason, the whole construction of the effort for the maximum purity of the building materials and also the maximum quality of the execution, which was also checked by the employees of the military building supervision, accompanied.Although civilian companies (including the company's internal installations - eg Tresoria Praha, water-installation company Hygiea from Ostrava, anti-tank cannons company Škoda Plzeň) were installed by civilian companies (even the internal installations were installed by civilian companies - from the beginning it was a purely military construction that was strictly classified and not even entered into land books. Workers had special passes for construction, all attempts at espionage or sabotage were strictly punished. Local residents also had a harder life with their fortifications - they could not have their boxes crossed over the line, but through obstructions through obstructions, and most importantly, any building modifications of their estates or noticeable changes in the forests near the fortification zone had to be approved by the military administration.Since 1938, the crew has been given a permanent crew of 37 men (however, at least half of them were in the barracks). The object was armed with two anti-tank cannons of 47 mm caliber, seven heavy machine guns vz. 37 caliber 7.92mm and at least six light machine guns vz. 26 caliber 7.92mm. There was installed filtering with gas filters, diesel generator for electricity production, water pump over 28 meters deep well, placed iron supply of food and ammunition supply. The object was connected to the phone with background and surrounding objects. The only thing missing was the observation bells and the heavy machine gun in the middle bell, from where it was possible to shoot at the enemy units approaching the road from Lower Morava. The floorboards were easy to replace with wooden ones, the carriage could only be replaced with a limited size - for example, a lightweight machine gun. After the forced abandonment of the building without a fight in October 1938, the history of the K-S 5 is covered in secrecy for several years, so we can only guess why the object was not exposed to more German German artillery or engine explosives exams than virtually all its neighbors. According to the preserved post-war list of the Czechoslovak army, the only damage was, even light, visible on steel bells. Surrounding objects, contrary to this, often had completely shattered tail or front walls, tear-offs of main weapons,Happiness K-S 5 left in 1956, when the workers of the national company Kovošrot were ripped or rather shot out, all three bells. Thus, the metalwork has gained about 60 tons of high-quality cast steel at the price of the object. At that moment, the object lost much of its fighting value and gradually grew up until 1994, when it was occupied by a group of students in order to build a museum of Czechoslovak fortification and gradually to bring it to the state as close as possible in 1938. Gradually two of the three bells were repaired (2006), it is possible to see a fully equipped shooting room including machine guns, and since mid-2006 an original anti-tank gun. On the lower level you can see a functional diesel generator for the production of electricity, a functional original Kunz pump, equipped washing-room, non-commissioned quarters,In addition, a number of exhibits illuminating the issue of not only the Czechoslovak pre-war fortification are installed, and we should not forget even a small exposition with the theme of the Czechoslovak post-war fortification, which is rarely known today. From May to October, the K-S 5 is regularly accessible to the public on weekends; it is also possible to buy literature or small souvenirs with the theme of fortifications. More about the opening hours and the object itself can be found at the following address: k5.sweb.cz.
