... a little afternoon lap in the stormy wind to the Kulturkaufhaus in Friedrichstrasse. I bought three copies of a hiking guide there that I already owned ... the solution will follow shortly ;-)
The actual topic, which is why I documented the route: Manfred Reschke sent me part of his original manuscript…
In the Dussmann ... :-))
My longing for Berlin grows day by day ...: - /
After looking through the pictures, I was expecting a comment on the new book by Juli Zeh ... also plays in Brandenburg😉 Unterleuten was already excellent - I'm looking forward to Über Menschen✨
It's a strange feeling that you can stroll through there as normal without a preliminary corona test, since bookshops in many federal states are considered to be 'goods providers for daily needs' and thus represent the 'cultural life rafts'.
Good thing that is Frank! With us in Thuringia, bookshops are obviously not considered "cultural life rafts"!
@Steffi: I've just finished reading the book. Unfortunately it is not a milestone like 'Unterleuten' and from my point of view also a bit controversial. In many places, however, I had to smile about the observations in the Brandenburg province. Since it is a real Corona novel (it will be set in spring…
How interesting to read Manfred Reschke's hiking report from 1977. The shape alone, typewriter font, is reminiscent of a bygone era. The text reads cheerfully and maybe I will think of the procedure back then to get from Berlin to hiking to Brandenburg when my train is delayed again 15 minutes, so as…
Thank you, Andrea! I also think that at the end of the 70s it must have been a real challenge to even venture out on tours like this. That is what distinguishes the 'doer'. Manfred told me that he had to turn back often enough at restricted areas and that the few detailed maps available were covered…
I've also heard of the white spots on cards. I think you can read from the text how much the author loves nature, how happy he is and how he observes closely. A "burner" for his passion. Should also appear here ;-)
One more note on Juli Zeh's subordinates. How often do I think of this book when I come…
Thank you for sharing the 'teaser', Frank! For me, as a native of West Berlin, this is very interesting, it reminds me of the unfortunate time of the division, even if we never went on trips to Brandenburg.
Thank you very much, Frank, for your assessment and the link to the review🙏🏻✨ ... my weekend reading is secured there😊
Thanks for the link to the “teaser”! I also read with interest! 😁
