The view at 7:00 a.m. from the hotel window in Stein was sobering: Heavy rain!
The view on the WetterApp was just as devastating: 80 - 100% probability of rain by evening!
So we decided to test the famous Swiss public transport.
The route from Stein to Amden was quickly found. First by bus from Stein to…
I still remember our conversation about the Swiss public transport system very well. At that time theory, today your relevant practical test. What is one of the basic philosophical principles: Practice is the criterion of truth! 🤗
I still have one: the evening (picture 4) is smarter than the morning (no. 1) 🏞️
I can well imagine how much you would have liked to have run all the stages regularly. But of course, in this weather, safety always comes first.
The fact that what you experienced the day before yesterday still seemed to be stuck in your bones this morning suggests that you acted exactly right.
@ Jürgen: The evening (picture 4) is not only smarter than the morning, but also clearer. ;-)
After the Swiss railways and nuts, you can set the clock, they are so punctual. Furthermore, great experiences in the wonderfully beautiful Switzerland.
Fine, of course.
That's right, Ryan, the system in Switzerland is almost perfect and is still being improved. As a German, I am actually ashamed when I think of our public transport. In a situation like ours in Germany, only a taxi would actually have been possible. But when would that have come?!?
Oh Lutz, such a 💩. But I also think everything was done right. A rainy stage in the Alps is just a different quality than on the Wiedweg. And despite this devastating day, picture 3 is "madness" in my eyes as an inexperienced mobile phone photographer. The cyclist who seems to come out of the clouds…
My kid actually only walks around in FSV clothes, Jörg. Has already been approached by two different women who came out as compatriots 🤣.
The photo actually made me think of you getting shot up there. Probably way too fast for my camera 😇.
Safety would hardly have suffered from the rain on this stage, Silvia. We both just didn't feel like treading 1200 m up and 800 m down in this weather, with the prospect of wet shoes that we guaranteed not to get dry until the next day. The view of 0 Panorama wasn't exactly tempting either. In good weather…
@ Jürgen: Hui in the evening, ugh in the morning.
