Beaucoup trop plein, alors sortez vite ! ??

We haven't been hiking for far too long. That is why the beautiful weather ☀️ (finally no rain!) Led us towards Plön today. Originally we wanted to hike another five kilometers. Since the train was almost an hour late (people on the platform 🤦🏼♀️) we shortened it to 20km. Enough to get back in! 😅
It was basically pretty along the water most of the time. After about 10km we took a break for lunch in Malente, which was a first-class strengthening 💪North of the lakes we walked past cattle pastures 🐮 and paddocks 🐴. Martin made the acquaintance of lots of steakies again (🐮> 🥩) 🤷🏼♀️ Again and again there were beautiful views of water and meadows. A very scenic route and highly recommended 😊

Rolofshagen has been on my wish-list for a long time and it finally worked. It was a little tour after work, over cobblestones, gravel roads and overgrown dirt roads. Unfortunately, I was not really blown away by the church ruins. It was interesting anyway.
Unfortunately, the evening tour apparently got me sunburned. So much for the evening sun not being so bad 🙄🙈

The visit to Wernigerode was also a trip back in time, at least for grandma. Because there's an old picture of her next to one of the castle's cannons. So of course we had to go up there. Since grandma and grandpa are not very good on foot, we took the tourist train (O-Ton Sohnemann: "I prefer to hike! Why don't we hike ?!").
Therefore, after visiting the castle courtyard, the two of us had a little scramble up to the Agnesberg to get stamps. And enjoy the view. Indeed: nowhere else do you have such a beautiful view of Wernigerode Castle!

A wish from grandma and grandpa: the Kyffhäuser! While the grandpa was there before, the grandma turned back too early to see him decades ago on her way upstairs. Now we've made up for that. What we did not expect: In order to be able to see the building properly, you have to pay admission. At 8.50 euros per adult, it's not exactly low either. If you see the entire complex as a museum, the entrance fee seems justified, but if you only want to visit one monument, the price is hard to swallow. After all: At 5 1/2 years of age, his son didn't have to pay anything.
To compensate for this, there was a visit to the Barbarossa cave in the evening (which of course I did not track), which always shines in colorful light for three weeks in the evening. And that is really something that we will remember as a highlight;)
