The autumn colors are of course very photogenic right now. It's the same everywhere, no matter where you are.Of course, only those who have one can stay at home. Those who have one can be happy, many do not have it.

This tour led to the Lopausee near Amelinghausen and back it went via Betzendorf, Barnstedt, Kolkhagen, Melbeck and Deutsch-Evern.I didn’t take any photos because I’ve already taken this tour many times and was on the road with my wife. I prefer to take photos when I'm traveling alone.

The tour began at the Löschplatz parking lot in Lauenburg and went via Lanzen to Dalldorf. There we drove on the west side of the canal to Mölln and the bike tour ends at the granary in the port of Mölln. We went back by ship. I didn't record this part anymore, but apart from 4 pictures at the cable ferry Siebeneichen, all other pictures were taken of the ship on the return journey. The Elbe-Lübeck Canal impresses with its closeness to nature and for the most part looks more like a river than a canal.

The grounds of the Psychiatric Clinic Lüneburg (PKL) with its parks and the clinics in the pavilion system from the Wilhelminian period are worth seeing. Also a place to relax. The facility is open, an exception is "forensics", where you should not take pictures. The goal was the "Euthanasia" memorial in the PKL and the lavishly renovated house of the former nursery. The clinic opened in 1901 in an open field, the decisive factor for the location was the water supply. To do this, they had to build the water tower, which was supplied by two pumping stations near Vögelsen. The basic plan of the complex with its park still exists today. Workshops formed an important concept of therapy and financial provision, so that in part little subsidies were necessary.Basically this changed in 1933 and the dark side of German psychiatry began. So-called "racial hygiene" was not the view of individual, but many. It began with forced sterilization and with the beginning of the war in 1939 with Operation T4 from 1939 to 1941. About 70,000 people fell victim to it. This was discontinued due to public protests, but continued as a "secret imperial affair" in the form of "wild euthanasia" and about 200,000 - 300,000 fell victim to it. It fell victim not only to the physically and mentally handicapped, but also to the mentally ill, who were viewed as a burden on the system and legally disposed of. This was only possible through the cooperation and ignorance of the authorities, the judiciary and employees.

The goal of this tour was the old cement factory in Häcklingen, the industrial area at the old plant near Embsen and the renatured Bach Billerbeck between Embsen and Melbeck. This could only be planned as a mountain bike tour, in detail it was also a trial and error attempt. The old gravel plant in Häcklingen is actually fenced, but there are passageways that were created by someone. Enter at your own risk! In the former quarry there is also a mountain bike training area, which the youngsters have designed themselves. Through a gap I was able to leave this area again and was then heading towards Embsen. The ADAC training ground is in Embsen, which was of no interest to me. I wanted to take a look at the industrial area with the old factory. What that used to be is not yet apparent to me, but it is probably now being used by "Raiffeisen".The ultimate goal was the renatured Billerbeck Bachtal between Embsen and Melbeck. Here is a little gem that only insiders know. Usually you drive past it.

This tour went in the direction of Amelinghausen, turning point was the Lopausee. Since this tour was not the first time, hardly any pictures of the route. The drought is noticeable, the dandelions did not really stand out on the pale meadows and the farmers were busy bringing their water cannons to the fields. The drought is a disaster for forest and farmers. Of course not for cycling with blue.An important point for me was to look after the herd at the sheep farm in Kronsbergheide. Yes, she was still there, with black lambs and little goats. They wouldn't have anything to eat out in the heath at the moment anyway.Even at the chapel in Barnstedt, this beautiful gem, I couldn't resist. The route is a bit hilly, with the first climb to Südergellersen, the zwote to Oldendorf and the third from Lopausee to Betzendorf. You will then be rewarded with a nice descent, either to Heinsen or Barnstedt. They're both good, I'm always looking forward to doing this tour.

What is there to see? I saw a herd of deer at Schnellenberger Allee for the first time and And two pairs of cranes in the fields between Westergellersen and Kirchgellersen. They could only be captured halfway with a focal length of 600 mm. Otherwise you don't see this area. Since we are going through a dry period in the north again, the colors of the meadows are very pale and the dandelions are not really showing off. The rapeseed begins to bloom here too.

This tour led to the northwest in the march to Krümse. Partly along the Ilmenau bike path. Of this, the course of this bike path, between Oldershausen and Tönnhausen, is very attractive. Dogs went to the old picking basins to look at the bird life. Was still pretty quiet. There is a stork nest in the heap village of Krümse, which was occupied by both storks this year. Last year it was only one, at least this time of year.It is important for a tour on the farm roads to know the transitions over transverse rivers and ditches. Here it was the Ilau snow trench which is an obstacle. If you are unlucky you end up in a dead end.

Thursday is a normal weekday and the city is well filled with city tours and passers-by in the late morning. A special event every spring is the blooming of the old tulip trees in the town hall garden and every city tour that starts at the town hall leads there. It's different this year. Nature does it alone, but despite all of this, the AGL has planted new pansies. Some things go on somehow. This place is about 200 m from my home, I wanted to take a look at it in peace. Since this is very short, I expanded the whole thing and captured impressions with the camera. This was only possible because the inner city was thinned out and was almost deserted at the usual hot spots. (Thanks to those who stayed at home). Hardly any children, teenagers or students. Everything is tight, including the new music school. Public life is practically silent and is ideally located in the home office. How high the collateral damage of the pandemic will be is still completely unclear. The virus is there and will be with us for a long time. If we now believe that this is all humbug, everything was in vain. It is up to us whether the optimists are right: "We can still do this" or the pessimists "We can not do it". The fear of the healthcare system is that mass of sick people in the hospitals will reach us in the next 2 weeks. It will also have a certain negative side effect that other deadly diseases can no longer be optimally treated. Corona-19 is not the only one.Act wisely, think twice if a tour is absolutely necessary. Leave space for families with children and choose the nature near you, with understanding and position knowledge you can enjoy nature without endangering being outside. It will be different than usual, but can also gain, at least in knowledge. This will be my last public tour, I am now going to quarantine for 14 days, for now. Stay healthy.

At the beginning of this tour I was a little queasy and was in doubt. In the middle of the city on Sunday morning. As a hamburger I have lived in the old town of Lüneburg for 30 years and know when nothing is going on on Sunday between 8:00 and 10:00 a.m. Public services no longer exist and the gastronomy has been completely closed since yesterday, so no brunch. All hotels are dense, no coaches, no tours etc., but the weather was good. Cold wind and sunny. This tour is a documentation of the emptiness, which was even clearer in the city than in the Ilmenauauen or the Treidelweg as a popular jogging area or for dogs. In the late morning, as everywhere else, this began to change. The beginning was the western part of the old town, there is usually little going on here, in the absence of guided tours, and went around the city center, with a final dangling around Scunthorpeplatz.Today would have been a day for gastronomy, but it has been completely closed since yesterday. The photos show few people, that was really the case and if you met them, you could dodge them generously. Quiet, very few cars and no children.I am thinking of those who are not allowed to work, the children and parents who no longer have public playgrounds and kindergartens, also the young people who would like to meet, but are not allowed to. But also to those who have to work around the clock, every day and are exposed to uncertain risks. And to those who cannot get a visitor and are not allowed out.Even if Lüneburg is a beautiful city, it shouldn't be an incentive to visit it. It doesn't bring us anything at the moment, everyone who lives from tourism doesn't earn anything. Everything is closed except grocery stores, drug stores and pharmacies. When it will normalize is uncertain. Remains healthy and drains the virus.
