À propos de Jonas
Originally from Germany, living, working and cycling in Valencia.
4 252 km
Aka "rolling 100 km downhill". Another reason why i chose this route as my first solo bikepacking trip ;) I was really surprised how low temperatures were in the morning (Not really the Premium weather forecast had told me). After crossing train tracks underneath a sketchy "tunnel" I was back on the Via Verde. This day I had a longer route but I also started earlier, so I could just be as chill as the day before. Which I took advantage of. I stopped less for pictures but more to explore the nearby villages, which I already had seen with anticipation from the train the previous day. These exploration stops really showed me that I need to switch to SPDs…
Since I started earlier and also I guess the area towards the sea is more populated, I came across more cyclists and hikers today.
The nearer I got to Valencia the uglier the scenery and road became. I always hate the last part of such a journey, because it mostly means getting back to high populated areas – and traffic. The last part from Sagunt was just a soulless red bike path. Don't get me wrong, it is great for cycling infrastructure but a bit of a bummer compared to what came before. In the end I was really happy when I arrived home though (where a warm shower and a cold beer was waiting).
I guess I have to complete all Vias Verdes now. And get a physiotherapist and bike fitting, my left shoulder is killing me ^^"
