Oberlausitzer Bergweg

Today I ran the 1st stage of the Oberlausitzer Bergweg in the best sunny weather. First it went from Neukirch / Lausitz steeply up to Valtenberg with the observation tower. From Sohland a. Today we went along the Spree along the Spree to a reservoir and up to the Waldbühne. Further up to the imposing granite rocks Kälbersteine. Up to here some rain and fog 🌧. Today I started in the most beautiful sunny weather and hiked through beautiful forest areas with some wonderful pathways. A highlight was the source of the Spree at Kottmar, where a memorial for those who fell in World War I was erected (there are also two other sources of the Spree). Then it went past… voir plus

Today I started at the Beckenbergbaude in Eibau and arrived at the Sonnebergbaude in Waltersdorf. Weather mixed, clouds, sun, a little rain shower, something of everything 🌤 🌧. Today the Oberlausitzer Bergweg led me first through the impressive Nonnenfelsen rock formation, where there is also a cozy mountain hut 🍻. We continued through the Zigeunerstuben to the Jonsdorf gondola pond and along the Jonsdorf rock town. I came to the high forest, climbing further and further… voir plus

Yesterday I first visited the castle and monastery complex on the Oybin plateau, which is well worth seeing. At the weekend the Oybin Castle Days took place, which gave the whole thing a nice medieval flair.
