Ruhrgebiet bis Niederrhein

Premier jour de notre circuit découverte autour de Brüggen, Schwalmbruch et de certaines parties des Pays-Bas. Le jour 2, il faisait encore très froid le matin aujourd'hui, nous avons traversé le NSG Elmpter Schwalmbruch en direction de Roermond. Inspirés par les excursions de @Mosmas dans la région de Niers/Nette dans le Bas-Rhin et par ses excellentes photos, nous voulions explorer cette région à vélo et avons commencé dimanche matin sur la Wachtendonker Friedensplatz.

Le beau temps d'octobre du week-end vous invite à faire des circuits qui montrent les beaux contrastes entre l'eau et la végétation colorée. The starting point of our Saturday tour was the Duisburg Landscape Park (Tour 3 from Cycling & Enjoyment, Klartext Verlag). Finding the entrance to the Green Path was a bit difficult for us who did not know the location, we did not see any signs.

Basically a nice round, but mostly quite full. Also today on a Tuesday. We would not drive the route starting from the starting point north of the Ruhr to Essen-Steele again. Very narrow paths that you share with pedestrians and poor quality of the path. South of the Ruhr, the cycle path is much better… voir plus

This time an all men’s tour. Relaxed 44 km. However, the coal railway line to Sprockhövel leads steadily uphill for a length of 6.5 km. This weekend there was also permanent wind, which is really annoying at times. But the men had two good days.



Nice that you took some photos. I often complain about the frequent stopping :-)

Another easy way back to GE. Unfortunately, the photo yield was only low, and the wind was again a dispensable companion.

From Gelsenkirchen to Wesel through Kirchheller Heide and via Rotbachweg, Emscherweg and Rheindamm. We particularly liked the Rotbach route. The tour is quite varied. The short route through Dinslaken doesn't bother either. Otherwise a lot of nature, best bike paths (no deep sand and gravel) and wonderful impressions.

In view of the warm temperatures, we were happy to have chosen the way back via the railway from Wesel to Dorsten. The air in the woods is fresh and pleasant. By cycling in the forest, the tour is not so varied and you get less impressions. But never mind, it was still very nice. Unfortunately we reached… voir plus

A great bike tour that is just as beautiful with deviations. I would avoid the loose dirt roads next time. My colleagues had no problems with that.

You can also drive to Grietherort. There is also a ferry to the other side of the Rhine. If you take the ferry at Bislich, you will miss the wonderful Bislicher… voir plus

A demanding tour. Bike and buttocks were put under a lot of stress because of uneven road conditions, potholes and puckering slopes. The off-grid section below the Mintard Bridge is only recommended for experienced users. I preferred to push my bike.
