After a sweet breakfast with unusual service, we continued up to the Col de Vergio. In the hotel every couple sitting in the breakfast room got the breakfast extra and after a felt eternity served. Everyone was asked at least three times if they would like yogurt. Today we have our longest stage.

The indicated average speed is not right at all! We went extremely slow today and took a lot of breaks. Something like my smartphone with the Komoot not at all. Today it was not so hot anymore and at noon it even clouded over.

Today was a very long and hot day. The tour was much more demanding and exhausting than expected. At the end we were really flat and glad that we now have a rest day in Porto.

Last leg of our Monti e Mare hike from Corte to Piana. I had first thought about whether to give the stage a headline like "hike only for the brave". This was over the top in the end. After our hike Monti e Mare we spent a few days in the south of Corsica in and around Bonifacio. A fantastic old town built on a limestone cliff. Is definitely worth a visit. Last hike in Corsica. From the Bocca d'Arbia car park, which can not immediately be seen from the road, it goes through the otherwise impenetrable maquis west of Bonifacio to the sea to secluded beaches.
