After 7 hours of driving finally arrived in Monterrico. Check in, relax for a moment and then to the beach of the Pacific Coast for the exposure of newly hatched turtles. An experience!

Actually, Guatemala City was not on our program and is not necessarily hit because of their dangerousness by tourist buses.

But since we had touched the city on our way from Monterrico to Copan anyway and our bus driver, who lives in the center of the city, wanted to show something, we approached the… voir plus

Today relaxed: Breakfast in the Viavia, walk in the Riunenanlage Copan Ruinas with detailed description by a guide, then walk on the Plaza Central, coffee and cake in the famous wetzel and then Mochito in the Viavia. Quick to the hotel, because the same goes with the tuk-tuk in a coffee, tea and cocoa shop 😉

A beautiful place in Coban Ruinas to learn in detail about tea and chocolate, and a tasty end to the day before dinner in Viavia 😉

We stayed in Suchitoto on Lago Suchitlan in a beautiful hotel with a great view of the lake and are after the day tour of the place (own exploration) and the jungle tour in the afternoon in the evening again for dinner in the place gone.

Suchitoto, also affectionately called "Suchi", is a small town about 2 hours from San Salvador, with old cobbled streets, small colorful houses and a very pleasant atmosphere. After our own sightseeing tour in Suchitoto we made another booked tour in the afternoon with part of the group to Chinquera, about 18 km from Suchitoto.

At the confluence of the Rio Comali and the Rio Tapacali emerges one of the largest gorges in Central America: the Canon de Somoto. Only in 2004, the Canon was discovered by Nicaraguan scientists and 2004 by UNESCO named National Monument of Nicaragua.

The former capital of Nicaragua is known for its many churches and is therefore also called the city of churches. We visited three of the 16 churches on a tour, including the largest cathedral in Latin America.

PS: The church roof of the cathedral is completely accessible for $ 4 and offers spectacular views.

Thank you all for the hearts and comments. Unfortunately, we were allowed to stay up there for a short time, because the Masaya is also active at the moment. In addition, the vapors are harmful to health. But the half hour was very impressive. 🗻📸

What a coincidence, Masaya is the twin town of our Dietzenbach and there was also a big party instead 📸😉
