The first contact with Fourth. Directly from the airport in Saigon we went to the small town "Cai Be". It is located in the province of Tien Giang in the Mekong Delta. "Cai Be" is known for its "Floating Market" and for the beautiful little "Cai Be Church".

Excursion through the small, winding canals in the Mekong Delta. On these canals, fruits and vegetables are still being brought to the big creeks and to the "Floating Markets" in the Delta.

Short bus ride and short walk through the center of Saigon (nobody says "Ho Chi Minh City": O) I would have liked to have a look around there a bit longer but I'll catch up with it another time. When the metro is ready ...

Before leaving Saigon, make a detour to "Chinatown" and "Binh Tay Market".

Hội An, the old port city, is one of the few ancient cities in Vietnam that remained intact during the Vietnam War. The old town was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999.



Hội An is really beautiful and worth seeing but of course also very crowded by tourists.

Short stopover at the pass with a visit to the "Hải Vân Gates". The "Hải Vân Pass" is the weather divide between North and South Vietnam. Often cloaked in clouds, it is aptly called the Cloud Pass.
