Free, independent, self-determined – that's what Vanlife is all about. In this Collection, we have put together a holiday for you to escape the German autumn, in a campervan heading south! We will guide you to seven very different places – from Lake Constance, Tuscany, the Dolomites and Innsbruck. Start your vacation in your camper and let the road trip adventure begin! You can drive wherever you want and wherever the sun shines as you will be completely flexible with all the things you need in your house on wheels. At each stop, we have also picked out great day hikes that will take you to exciting vantage points, stunning landscapes and pretty towns. Your holiday will packed full of action and adventure.
The route starts at the picturesque Lake Constance – to get you into the holiday mood. From there, you will continue on to Lake Como. Depending on which road you choose (toll road or non-toll road), the journey takes between four and six hours. From Lake Como, you will continue to the next highlight: the famous Cinque Terre. Here, you can plan a similar travel time and decide again whether you take the toll motorway or the more relaxed option. Your adventure then continues through Italy to the heart of Tuscany to Florence. If you avoid the toll road, you will spend around four hours on the road, whereas the motorway will save you a lot of time. How about a stopover in Pisa? From Florence, you drive north again to Lake Garda, following country roads for five hours, or three hours on the motorway. From Lake Garda you will head north once more towards the Belluno Dolomites. Here, you should allow at least four hours driving time. For the last leg to Innsbruck, you will be on the road for another three hours. All in all, you will cover around 930 miles (1500 kilometers) – an epic road trip.
The high season in the Alps and Tuscany comes to an end in autumn, so you will easily find a quiet spot for your camper. We have suggested a campsite close to all of the routes but there are nearly always alternatives nearby. You can decide for yourself whether you prefer to wash off the dirt from a hike in the mountains in a lake or under the shower. After scrubbing up after an eventful day of exploring, you can visit towns and villages in the regino or just get comfortable in front of your camper and enjoy „la dolce vita“.
What if I don’t have my own vehicle? No problem. Thanks to PaulCamper, you can still start your road trip. You will find a range of over 5600 different vehicles on their platform, from campers to alcoves all over Germany. So how does it work? At PaulCamper, private and commercial motor home owners lend their beloved vehicles to travelers. When you find a suitable vehicle, you contact the owner personally to clarify the details. PaulCamper promises inclusive services on all vehicles in Germany and Austria including fully comprehensive cover and puncture protection, complete camping equipment and all agreed kilometers. So you won’t incur extra costs at the end of the journey.
What are you waiting for? Wear your sunglasses, put on your road trip music and full speed ahead to your very own camper hiking adventure.

"If Italy, as the poets sing, is comparable to a beautiful woman, Florence is the bouquet of flowers at her heart." This is what the German poet Heinrich Heine (1797-1856) writes about the capital of Tuscany. This nearly 15-kilometer circular walk offers you beautiful views of the Renaissance city and…

Mais ne vous inquiétez pas, la randonnée…
