Based in France I'm a roadie looking for adventure where the tarmac ends. You can also find me hiking, climbing or drinking coffee.

Beautiful dead-end climb From La Blonnière. When you reach the car park at the top you have a couple of options if you are on a gravel bike you ca continue along at the foot of the cliff or you can go by foot to the plateau where there is a refuge (aprox 1.5h hike). On the way back into Annecy we went through Naves Parmelan which gives you stunning views as you drop back down to the lake and into town.

Beautiful dead-end climb from Dingy-Saint-Clair situated at the foot of the 1,832 m high Parmelan mountain, and stretches from the hamlet of Chez Collet at about 600 metres altitude to the hamlet of La Blonnière at about 1,000 metres altitude at the end of the climb. From La Blonnière, a road and then a path leads to the summit of Parmelan, a mountain that is part of the massif des Bornes.

A loop out to Gruffy. There was a bit of main road action at the beginning (would not recommend) but I stopped and checked the map and did a quick route plan which saved the ride as the rest was on stunning little roads winding through alpine villages.

Starting from the centre of the village of Ste.Foy en Tarentaise, this alpine gravel road will take you high up from the hamlet of Le Monal with its breathtaking views towards the Mont Pourri Glacier, then a balcony groad to Le Crot and finally a hidden valley leading to the Rutor hut. Absolutely phenomenal.Quick return on the tarmac to Ste. Foy and or Bourg along the Rivière de l'Arc.
