Portugal N2 Record

The N2 in Portugal is the longest continuous road in the country and one of the longest roads in the world. A mythical and historical route, at 738km and with 10,000m of elevation gain, The N2 commences in the North of the country in Chaves and extends through the central region to Faro in the far South. Historically, the N2 was Portugal’s main North-South connection however over the years, larger highways and tollways have replaced this now quiet road.Similar in nature to America’s Route 66, popular United States talk show, ‘Good Morning America,’ rated the N2 as one of the worlds must see tourist destinations of 2019. An abundant mix of historical towns, rolling mountain vistas, local Portuguese culture and rich heritage, offer an opportunity to showcase the N2 as a powerful tool for Portuguese tourism.On April 24th I set off, eager to brake the N2 record for the fastest South to North crossing from Faro to Chaves.All things came together and I managed to break the record!
