Rund um Daun/Vulkaneifel

Today I did a small but very nice tour of Daun.

On the Maare-Moselle cycle path from Daun train station, it went over the viaduct for a while to the Gemündener Maar junction. I climbed the Mäuseberg and was able to enjoy a wonderful view from the Dronketurm. The descent to the Gemündener Maar is nice… voir plus

The HeimarSpur "Path of Biodiversity" has been in the planning for long enough - today I hiked it.



A great circular route where nature alone is the main attraction. The path is well signposted (the red owl can always be seen from afar) and is very varied and informative.

At the start of the weekend, I did another home tour over the weir bush today and discovered a new path 😊🤓

Between the corona test, a visit and FINALLY going out to eat again, there was little time to hike on the first summer day of the year. But I think I used it perfectly



I started at Forum Daun. From here it goes past the school center down the Pützborn slope to the Liesertal. The path between Pützborn… voir plus

Since the morning promised even better weather than the afternoon, I was already standing in the parking lot near Dockweiler at 9 a.m. and started on one of my favorite routes near my home. From here it goes over a beautiful forest path, under the former railway line, to the Dockweiler Sauerbrunnen… voir plus

Small after-work round, for the first time I discovered a deer 🦌 here (picture 1) 👍

Since I only have a little time today, the small round had to go over the weir bush today. But it was nice as always, I even caught an Eifel runner 😁

(Eifel-) Stein-reich we went today to the small but nice after-work round over the weir bush and the Philosophenweg. The Philosophenweg turns out to be Dauner's fitness studio again.

Last but not least, I was able to take a few nice pictures of the beautiful Art Nouveau villa, which is now completely… voir plus

Due to time constraints, I only made a short tour through the beautiful Dauner Kurpark today, even with the Eifelstein discovery 😊

Since my tour planned for today could not take place because the Maare-Mosel cycle path is closed from Daun, I decided without further ado an alternative, unspectacular, but with the weather: the main thing was OUT for the fresh air. It went over the Alte Darscheider Strasse to Darscheid and back over… voir plus

Today I wanted to use the nice weather again.

My round led me to the Firmerich, over the Alte Darscheider Strasse. Unfortunately, I couldn't do my tour as planned, the paths were closed due to a break in the wind, you really don't have to risk anything. A few people even met to ice-skate on the Maubachweiher… voir plus

To slowly get fit again today, a nice little lap over the Firmerich, the same route as on January 17th, only this time the snow is no longer there. But the track has its charms at all times, I love the view from up there.

Today I only did a small but nice tour over the snow-covered Firmerich in Daun. There is still a lot of untouched snow here, the view from the vantage point of the snow-covered town of Daun is fantastic.

The path continues on the old path to Darscheid, a beautiful avenue, attractive in every season. Shortly… voir plus

It is difficult to cover such a long distance in the Eifel without significant gradients. It worked on this tour. The path leads over the Kosmosradweg, so you also learn something about the creation of the universe, starting with the Big Bang - it is located on the Meerfelder Maar and was not the beginning… voir plus

A nice tour around Daun. It starts at Forum Daun, from there it goes through the spa gardens, through Geműnden up to the Sporthotel Grafenwald, then through the forest to Daun-Pützborn. From there a beautiful bike and hiking trail (Kosmosradweg) leads back to Geműnden, there then up to the Philosophenweg… voir plus

The start is on the L66 between Darscheid and Gefell, in the sharp right-hand bend.

The route begins with a great view that you can enjoy briefly over the next few kilometers. Even today in rainy and cool weather it was worth it, in clear weather it is definitely twice as beautiful.
