'Architektouren' in Berlin

... Today in the late afternoon I have now completed the small but fine third and final walk on the theme 'settlements of Berlin Modernism'. Since Siemensstadt is located right next to the narrow Siemenspark and the larger Volkspark Jungfernheide, it made sense to include both.

... In addition to my theme hike 'Settlements of Modernism Berlin' from last Sunday, today I have two other UNESCO World Heritage housing developments in Berlin connected by a tour, the horseshoe settlement in Britz and the garden city Falkenberg in Bohnsdorf.

... after a long time today again a small 'Architectur', so a hike with an architectural theme. This time I linked three of the six UNESCO World Heritage housing developments in Berlin on this tour, the route was partly new and exciting for me.

... Today, as recently announced, another 'Architectour', between the two most striking buildings of the brick expressionism of the 1920s in Berlin. Both buildings were planned by the architect Eugen Schmohl. The tour exclusively in the west of Berlin, I had never been so before, but I knew the vast… voir plus

... today a longer walk through Moabit and Gesundbrunnen with the goal of combining the two historic AEG turbine factories built by the architect Peter Behrens in the early 20th century.



After reading a recent report on the architect, I was interested in it. The two assembly halls, which are still gigantic… voir plus

... only a small Berlin tour today partly in the pouring rain, together with Jana. The goal was the 'mouse bunker', which served as a research facility for experimental medicine (in plain language: animal testing laboratory) of the FU and thus something of (West) Berlin's dystopian spawn of brutalism… voir plus

... comme je ne voulais pas profiter pleinement de la Pentecôte, aujourd'hui, je suis allé 'sur le pas de la porte' comme alternative à cette tournée urbaine brutale à travers Berlin.



Depuis trois jours maintenant, le 'Mouse Bunker' (ancien laboratoire animalier de la FU/Charité) est enfin sous la protection… voir plus

... aujourd'hui, j'ai eu le temps pour une autre visite urbaine prolongée avec quelques perles architecturales de brutalisme à Berlin à court terme dans l'après-midi. Je me suis limité aux quartiers de Charlottenburg, Moabit, Wedding et Gesundbrunnen. Ce qui était très intéressant pour moi, c'était le… voir plus

... à moins de '4 pâtés de maisons' de cette tournée se trouvent souvent les zones de richesse affichée et de pauvreté abjecte, j'ai été une fois de plus très étonné par la combinaison des fragments de quartier.
