The Waldstein is a highlight in itself. If you have small children with you or just don't want to hike, you can experience the best places on the hike without them. A grand circular walk. There are great views, numerous root paths and various quarries, some of which are still being worked on today.

Please be careful: the route from the circular route around the castle with its numerous quarries is a barely existent route that is sometimes very steep. The view is stunning.

The hike is an experience especially for younger children. Every few meters there are games, experiments and information about plants and animals. Unfortunately, a part runs along a wide gravel path, but the larger section in the forest. The circular hiking trail can be reached from several sides of free parking spaces.

The rock labyrinth alone is a huge experience of rocks, roots and caves. For a little more money (costs admission !!) a small puzzle book can be purchased, for which you will receive a reward in the end (I don't want to reveal too much 😉). This hike is a short, barely strenuous afternoon hike. The quarry is the real highlight (unfortunately we were dealing with loud music when we were there). However, a detour to the summit cannot hurt. This is an almost pure deciduous forest, which is rare.

This is a very diverse hike. In the beginning, hardly any vertical meters are covered. The bog and the lake are on the one hand very worth seeing, on the other hand also very crowded (we were there on a Sunday). Unfortunately, this hike is not entirely correct since the cable car was used in between. So the information is not quite correct. The hike is still recommended, especially because of its variety.
