Well, it's time I continued my Hessen project. As you can see, I made a pretty big approach from the south. I actually wanted to start in Trier, but that was too tricky for me because of the flood problem. Tomorrow we will continue to the Odenwald.🚵‍♂️

According to Wikipedia, Büdingen is referred to as the Rothenburg of Hesse. They are right! The old town seems to have been asleep for 500 years if you think of the cars. 🏰

Today on the most famous railway cycle path in Hessen to the spa town of Bad Salzschlirf, where gout patients used to be treated. Since gout is caused by poor diet, the bath was a meeting place for the rich who could afford such a diet. 🍖🍗🥩🍭🍬🍫🍯🦀

Today I used the emergency service for bicycles mentioned yesterday because the brakes were worn and the light was broken. However, I went to Schlitz myself.

The Diemel cycle path runs through a beautiful landscape with undulating mountains, meadows and forests. As an addition there is the Diemelsee. If you want to cycle the path, it is best to take the train to Usseln (there is the source, good train connection from Kassel) and then roll relaxed to the Weser.

The Diemel cycle path is slowly becoming one of the most beautiful river cycle paths in Germany. The landscape looks a little different than in the upper reaches but is still beautiful. There are also cultural and historical sights such as castles.
