Radtouren in Südtirol

Merci, nous avons eu beaucoup de chance et 9 jours de vacances sur 10, un ciel bleu clair et une bonne visibilité. Nous sommes très heureux d'être dans le Tyrol du Sud hospitalier, également à cause des bons bus et trains qui sont gratuits grâce à la MobilCard.

For the ascent to the Würzjoch we chose the low-traffic variant via Rina, but before that we are not spared the tunnel-rich main road of the Gardnertal (tunnels can only be bypassed partially on closed paths). In contrast to the quiet ascent to the Penser Joch the day before, on Jaufenpass (Friday) whole groups of different sports car brands were on the road, and their driving style was sometimes not very compatible with nature and the landscape.

The weather offered the best conditions for the tour over the Penser Joch. Since most of the accommodation providers in South Tyrol offer the Mobilcard free of charge for stays of three days or more, only the surcharge for the bikes was charged for the return journey from Bolzano to Freienfeld by train… voir plus

After driving over the Brenner in the morning, the luggage bags stayed in the new accommodation in order to use the somewhat rainy afternoon for a trip to two of the Sterzing valleys.

The bike path in the Eisack Valley leads through the beautiful Sterzing to Gossensass with a rather wavy profile, from where it ideally continues on the route of the old Brennerbahn to the pass.

For the wonderful ride from Cortina to Toblach, the unpaved cycle path on the railway line can be used to the Cimabanche Pass. For the descent to Dobbiaco, the road is more preferable, at least for bikes with narrow tires.

We didn't expect it to be a tour with pronounced goosebumps moments today. When we decided after the 15 switchbacks up to Steinegg to take a little detour into the village and came to the door of the new church, the first of them was there - the view to the rose garden opens unexpectedly. After a somewhat adventurous trip up to Oberfennberg, there was not enough time and "grains" to drive the 120 meters down to Fennberger See (and up again). The hoped-for view of the Adige Valley does not exist in Oberfennberg, but a large raised bog area and a somewhat older hunting lodge.

It was still pretty cold on the descents at this time of year - but the ascent to the Mendel Pass with its views of the Adige Valley and Lake Kaltern is particularly attractive.

Great tour, first on the bike path through the Eisack Valley, then on lonely streets over Barbian to Ritten. The sweeping descent down the well-developed road to Bolzano is a poem.

The Gasthaus Stallwies was open over the Easter holidays - so let's have a coffee in the snow with a view of the majestic mountains above the Martell valley.

High-contrast tour from the luxury bike path in front of Merano via the high tourist Schenna up to the remote mountain villages above the Passeier Valley.

Blue sky and still snow on the mountains - the right day for the tour on the Vinschgau High Road. The view of the rock faces of the opposite mountain range to the Stelvio Pass and the Ortler is already memorable.
