Wanderungen und Radtouren im Elsass (und am Kaiserstuhl)

Après plusieurs tentatives, nous sommes enfin arrivés en Alsace. Nous voyageons de Colmar à Niedermorschwihr en taxi et Sandrine, notre chauffeur, nous parle de Dieu et du monde et de Madame Ferber, qui vend les confitures qu'elle produit ici même jusqu'à Paris, et du restaurant Morakopf, où la cuisine… voir plus

Le soir, nous avons très bien mangé à l'hôtel La Rochette à Labaroche et le pique-nique que les aubergistes nous ont préparé pour la randonnée d'aujourd'hui était également bon. Deux réservoirs, un sommet âprement disputé pendant la Première Guerre mondiale, un domaine skiable ainsi que quelques prairies alpines et de nombreuses forêts sont aujourd'hui au programme. Aujourd'hui, nous avons autant de vues et de panoramas que lors de toutes les journées de randonnée précédentes combinées. Aujourd'hui, les sentiers sont pour la plupart très simples et nous emmènent souvent le long de larges sentiers forestiers, préparés comme pistes de ski de fond en hiver, ou de petites… voir plus

Notre dernière journée de randonnée nous emmène des montagnes des Vosges jusqu'à la vallée du Rhin. Nous rejoignons d'abord Freland par d'étroites routes goudronnées, puis remontons dans la forêt. On peut randonner en toute décontraction sur de simples sentiers forestiers. Seuls de courts tronçons empruntent… voir plus

Cycle tour from Kientzheim via Selestat to Ottrott. The tour went at 32 degrees in the shade mainly by the shadowless Ried.

Again a very nice hike with rest in the Auberge St. Alexis.

Ribeauville is one of the picture book locations of Alsace. A picturesque old town and three castles in the immediate vicinity attract the visitors in torrents. US as well. The city we found very worth seeing and the walk was just nice.

Very nice bike ride over Riquewihr to Ribeauvillé, our next hiking tour. However, it is sometimes so steep uphill that pushing is necessary.

Riquewihr is really beautiful and not overrun early in the morning.

Second impression of Alsace. Very nice hike through vineyards and forest. In the places along the way so little tourism that there is not even a wine bar.

Bike tour from Riegel am Kaiserstuhl to Kientzheim in Alsace. The bike paths are very good. Over the Rhine, however, the route is routed to a relatively busy federal highway, because no alternatives are possible.

Wissembourg is located on the German-French border and we liked it very much. The place is still partly enclosed by remnants of the old city fortification and the old town is really worth seeing without having adopted the Disneycharakter, which one finds in many other cities of the Alsace.

Bike ride to the station of Strasbourg. The bike paths from Ottrott to Strasbourg are very good. After leaving the vineyards around Ottrott and Obernai, you drive through corn and corn fields. The closer you get to Strasbourg, the more the landscape and settlement change. About ten kilometers before… voir plus

Thursdays is a big weekly market in Obernai. A reason for a hike there. The way goes along the Ehn, which is accompanied almost all the way through loose deciduous forest. The way back via Boersch leads through vineyards and agricultural hilly area. Very beautiful.

Mont St Odile is a popular destination in Alsace. Rightly so. Nevertheless, we hardly saw any other people on the hike there. Although landscape and paths are very beautiful.

For example, you almost inevitably encounter the heathen wall on the hike.

We take our time and head for one of the many "balloons" in the Vosges. The small detour is worthwhile, because the view from the balloon d'Alsace is fantastic in every direction. There are many visitors and hikers there, but the terrain is extensive and therefore everyone will find undisturbed enjoyment of nature.
